Bruno Serato to Receive Knighthood from Italian Republic
You may know him as restaurateur and CNN Hero Bruno Serato, but these days he's going by the title Sir, after recently being appointed a Knight of The Italian Republic. The Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana (Order of Merit of the Italian Republic) continues a tradition that spans centuries of awarding worthy recipients who display exceptional merit in the fields of literature, the arts, economy, public service, and social, philanthropic and humanitarian activities.
Serato’s work with his nonprofit Caterina’s Club, which has served more than 442,000 meals to “motel” children, thus named because their poor, working class parents are relegated to living in low-cost motel rooms, earned him the highest-ranking honor of the republic.
“To receive this honor is a dream come true,” said Serato. “Not to mention, Sir Bruno definitely has a nice ring to it.”
Serato operates the Anaheim White House, which is situated in a historic national landmark mansion dating to 1909. It offers a quixotic menu of northern Italian/French fare, extensive wine list, unparalleled service and an elegant setting to create a dining experience that is timeless, remarkable and without equal. The restaurant is located at 887 South Anaheim Blvd. in Anaheim. Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling (714) 772-1381. For more information visit www.anaheimwhitehouse.com.
